The richness as well as vibrancy that is found to be closely associated with this festive occasion in Bombay is simply mind blowing.

The so called Dandiya Raas, Mumbai is celebrated on the eve of Navratri, which symbolizes the eagerly awaityed ninth day, just before the Dussehra. The main constituent of this Dandiya Raas, Mumbai is the Graba or a particular form of dance. Also known as Dandiya, in this particular mode of dance, couples are known to pareticpate with respective sticks in their hands. They are instructed to clap these sticks altogether along with the beats of the music that is being played in the background.
The traditional dress that is manifested by the women during this Dandiya Raas, Mumbai is essentially the Choli and the Lehenga. Both these attires are found to be extremely decorative and have a contemporary touch to them as well. Flashy colors are found to be an inseparable part of these Dandiya Ras attires. Modern day attire for this Dandiya Raas, Mumbai also consists of the Chaniya Choli.
